“Convening Communities for Economic and Social Change”

Dr. Lester Woods, Jr., Convener

“The intent of the summit is to foster community collaboration and establish resolutions that enhance individual’s quality of life. Community is the new currency!”

The Source Summit Global (SSG) vision is to “Convene communities for economic and social change.”

About the Source Summit Global

The Source Summit Global (SSG) intends to bring together the faith-based community, community based organizations and corporations in order to enhance economic and social equity within disadvantaged communities through education, employment and entrepreneurship.

In order to address economic and social concerns, which are ever evolving, concerned individuals must work together and give undivided attention to obstacles and barriers prohibiting individual and communal progress. The Source Summit Global mission can be accomplished through collaboration amongst community stakeholders in order to enhance the lives of those affected by joblessness, lack of opportunities and poverty.

SSG plans to close economic and social gaps through local summits and other events, which foster dialogue and discussions through presentations, workshops and sessions that inspire partnership and change.

Preparation

Resource and Retool

The summit will provide information, tools and resources for faith-based organizations to increase readiness to partner with other agencies and the business community in order to better serve the community at-large.

Execution

Implementation

Finally, collaboration, education and preparation leads to execution of critical initiatives that foster partnerships, remove barriers and level the playing field to improve the quality of life for individuals and enhance the total wellbeing of the community.

Local Community Collaboratives

SSG will also establish community collaboratives, which are local partnerships designed to expand upon the dialogue and momentum from local summits, as well as to plan events throughout the year that will foster community collaboration to enhance economic and social equity.

The purpose of the local collaborative is to advise, counsel and provide guidance to the local summit planning team. Additionally, the local community collaboratives will assist in brainstorming, planning and supporting summits, as well as other events and initiatives that may bring hope and wholeness to the local community. The collaborative will also participate in funding initiatives for events and activities.
